Antique Kashan, Persia, 1910s - Epitomizing the refined styles of Persia’s great city carpets, this outstanding silk rug from Kashan features a supreme level of detail and a symmetric curvilinear floral pattern woven with a tasteful old-world color palette. Refined floral sprays emerge from the central vase creating a delightful all-over pattern. Elegant burgundy borders feature formal cartouches set among a backdrop of complementary millefleur motifs. Exceptional guardbands decorated with a promenade of ogival cartouches provide a formal frame for the luminous camel-colored field and detailed millefleur background. |

I've heard that every Persian area rug has a hidden symbol under it's design...Is this true, because if it is I would like to find someone that can decode such a message before to buy such a carpet.
