The rugs as a group show a high degree of sophistication. The wool quality is high and the dye quality is exceptional. But the rug is not the product of a cartoon design, As we can see in the image directly below. Following the work of Jon Thompson we can see that the corner lacks the design resolution of the corner turn. What we have here is more kin to very high quality Tribal weaving of incredible size. This matches up with stories I head years ago that the best weavers in the tribe many of them Grandmothers would weave for the Khan.
